In Spain it was called «El hombre del saco (Bagman)»
Chronology
When an ominous threat from his childhood returns to haunt him, a father desperately fights against his deepest inner fear. Only this time the fight is not for himself; it’s for his family.
It’s downright crazy how low this movie really is
to avoid confusion El hombre del saco (2023), a Spanish horror film that premiered a year ago. He tells of the Spanish Boogeyman, also called the Bagman, a child abductor who used a large bag or sack to get them in, take the children from their bedrooms and disappear with them.
However, I think it is very well done
The movie gave pretty good anxiety-inducing vibes throughout, playing with the psychological aspects of things. Bagman is a version of the Boogeyman that we see in different cultures, and I’m assuming it’s not a new kind of story.
As much as possible
Most of the movies I’ve seen, they all gaslight the victims, and this movie did a really good job of making the victims feel heard as much as can be heard from the realistic side of things. (I hope that makes sense?) I appreciate that the sheriff went out of his way to make the family feel heard and safe.
